BMI is a simple screening measure based on height and weight — it doesn't account for muscle mass, bone density, age, sex, or where body fat is distributed, so it can be misleading for athletes, older adults, and many other people. It's a starting reference point, not a diagnosis. For a fuller picture of your health, talk to a doctor or healthcare provider.
